The Geological Society of Connecticut offers a grant program for students doing field work in Connecticut.
2026 GSC Student Research Grant Awardees ANDREW KAIKA is currently a rising junior/rising senior at Eastern Connecticut State University working on his bachelor's degree in Environmental Earth Science. His research project advisor at ECSU is Peter Drzewiecki.
The title of Andrew's research grant is "Reconstructing Early Jurassic climate through sedimentological and geochemical investigation of perennial lake beds in the Lower Jurassic Portland Formation, Hartford basin, Connecticut."
